Well, we are still here...

“Sof, sof” - people use to say in Hebrew. This phrase means “Finally!” and even if you, my readers, may not use it, I, as author of this project, use it a lot.

I will not bother you with problems that accompanied me during the creation of this website. I carry them myself daily.  I was a bit naive, when I thought that I could obtain enough finances for the new DELET from readers; although they contributed a bit. The whole sum needed for redesign, and rebranding climbed almost to 4000 EUR and I was able to raise only a half of it. However, that is not so important.

The essential thing is that DELET is up and running already. As you can see, it has been expanded by many new sections. The website is more interactive and daily updated. Thanks to voluntary help of Peter Godovič, our web is also bilingual. I am truly confident that our articles have always been and are good enough to be translated to English and vice versa. I am pleased, that all our correspondents have remained faithful to us, including Lucia Kollárová and my mum. Unfortunately, our regular political reporter Yehuda Lahav, who wrote 74 commentaries for DELET, is no longer with us. It would be wonderful, if the circle of our contributors would broaden even more, so if you have something on your mind or in your head, feel free to send your article to the following email: michael@delet.sk. I will be happy to publish it on our website.

You would not be reading DELET today, if it has not been for EZRA foundation and Tomáš Stern, who provided us with the starting financial resources, so the site could change its status to online on December 20, 2010. I am also thankful to internet business company Vesper (www.wearevesper.com), whose owners, programmers and designers have done everything to satisfy me with the result, even though I have not always been an easy customer.

The printed DELET was here for seven years. I know that nothing can make up for the rustle of paper and I am as well aware of the fact that many elderly people, including my own mother, used to read it. Therefore, I would like to ask their grandsons and granddaughters to print our articles and bring it to them. DELET is still in its initial phase and over time we would like to add more and more features, so please give us a bit more time. I welcome any suggestions and remarks, but also reports of any errors you may find. Additionally, I will of course be glad for any financial support, without which DELET would have had problems to exist. You can find the account number in the section “About us”.

Oh, before I forget. I have a message for all those who suspect us of how much money we have and how much money we are getting for this work. I can solemnly declare the following: zero, nada, efes, nothing. All of us are doing this voluntarily and at no cost.
