Israeli student found dead in German university

A 26-year-old Israeli medical student was found dead in her German university's halls of residence, state prosecutors in Goettingen said Thursday.

'This was definitely a violent crime,' said prosecution spokesman Andreas Buick, without specifying details or giving the cause of death. Friends had declared the student as missing, and her body was found after her room was forced open. She had come to study in Germany three-and-a-half years ago. Such incidents were rare among students, Buick said.
